When you teach your toddler to use your iPhone...

...this is what you end up with in your pictures. Lovebug was apparently using the Curious George Coloring Book app (his new favorite) and saved this to my pictures. I assume that Curious George is somewhere underneath all of the hearts but it's hard to tell.

Yes, both of my toddlers have an obsession with my phone. Bad, I know! I've created monsters. The picture below was taken when I asked Princess to show me her shirt. She stood up to show it to me and then proceeded to walk to me (a huge accomplishment since she's still against walking all the time). As she was walking towards me, she was saying "I see" the whole time.

I have found that Lovebug knowing how to use my phone though does have its benefits. If I want him to be quiet while we're somewhere I just hand it to him and he's happy. I have a page of apps that are just for him (Wheels on the Bus, Old McDonald, Monkey's Jumping on the Bed and now Curious George coloring app). He loves them all. He also knows how to scroll through the pictures and watch videos. He occasionally tries to send an email but so far he hasn't figured that out, phew!

The other day he wanted to go with me to watch Sissy (his name for Princess) at The Little Gym. I took him along. He sat out in the viewing area and watched her whole close. Part way through I gave him my phone just to make sure he stayed quiet (he is not even 3 yet afterall). He played with it until the class was over. When I went out after class the father that was sitting out there, commented on how amazed he was that Lovebug knew how to use the phone so well and was scrolling through pictures. He even knew how to go to the menu and find the next thing he wanted to play with. *sigh* yes I have definitely created a monster...

Ah HA!!! I just sent this to my blog from my phone...woo hoo! Glad to see that it worked. The story about this picture will be included in the blog above.

Labor Day pictures

These pictures were taken on Labor Day on The Hartford Belle. www.hartfordbelle.com

Not your typical blog

I should warn everyone now that this isn't going to be your typical blog with long posts that talk about so much. My life just doesn't allow for that, so instead each post will most likely be a small snipit. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

You put your paint on?

Yes, that's what Lovebug said to me the other morning as he watched me put on my make-up before leaving for work. He considers my "paint" to be my blush. Hubby says it's because the blush brush looks like a paint brush and I guess that makes sense. It does make me laugh in the morning though that Lovebug says to me "You put your blush on mommy". It really is very cute!

The innocence of an almost 3 year old

Tonight as I was getting Lovebug ready for his bath, he was really whiney. I said to him "it must be hard being 2 years and 10 months old, huh?" His response was "No, I'm Lovebug". (of course he used his real name and not Lovebug) Totally cracked me up. It was similar to the other night when I called him my little monkey and he told me that no he was Lovebug.

Trying to get back to blogging

Now that it's been almost a year since I set up this blog and last updated it, I think it's time to try again. I figure I will use this as a place to capture the many funny things that happen in our life.

Lovebug keeps wanting to sing his ABC's. They go something like this A, B, C, D...won't you sing with me. Or other times he says: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, Momo, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z, etc, etc. The funny part in there is the Momo for M, N, O. Momo is what he calls my mom, apparently he thinks she's part of the ABC's, it's really the funniest thing when he does it.

This morning I thought I'd get back into my Sunday morning walk. What I failed to realize is that a month has passed since the last time we went for a walk and it's darn cold out in the morning. I didn't pack a blanket or anything to put over Princess, I at least remembered her jacket. But at only 49 degrees it was a bit chilly so we only walked for about 10 minutes. Oh well, we tried.

Oh, another funny Lovebug story. We are trying to get him to eat new foods, so we can get him off his jelly sandwich or chicken nugget diet before we go to Disney. We are using some bribery to do it. The other night we were trying to get him to eat Spaghetti. The other night I was bribing him with M&M's for every couple of bites of spaghetti he had. He looked at Hubby, completely seriously and said "You eat your spaghetti daddy and you can have M&M's". Ahh, gotta love the mind of a toddler.

I know there's many more funny things that have happened but they have slipped my mind right now.
